If companies want to advertise they are supposed to stay in the buy/sell section as per the forum rules...

We welcome businesses who want to contribute to the community, and they are rewarded with the ability to create a thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade section to promote their products.

If they contribute then I don't mind them being in the introduce yourself section. But if they are double dipping just for the free advertising I say we give them the boot.

Idk...its all subjective. I think limiting the links till you have ten posts solves a lot of problems.

Depends. Spammers spam the one or two posts. If thats all they do, then their signature is not not being spread beyond the 2 posts anyway. I dont really see how this makes any difference. Besides, spammers are usually dealt with quickly enough by the admins and there is not really a problem to solve anyway.

As opposed to: New members can quickly express themselves and substantiate their interests.

This should take care of some of the spam issues we seem to have with new users simply creating a profile just to toss a link in the signature but not contributing to the community with more than a post or two.

Thoughts?
