We don't refuse to so much as we don't have a person to consistently do it. I agree, we dropped the ball on that.

As for the firmware, I'm not familiar with the exact issue, but I don't think things are quite so simple as modifying the look up table.

It's high up on the list for firmware fixes.

Why not simply modify the firmware to adjust the temperature +15 degrees or whatever it roughly is? It's just a look-up table. This would really clarify things, for the solidoodle info has caused a lot of conflicting information on the web.

Well now they're stuck in this quandary where Solidoodles have the reputation of needing to be run 30C cooler, so if you apply a fix (it seems they've applied half of one) then you get people giving incorrect advice again! I suppose they could put a note on the printer itself recommending temperatures, but that'd be including documentation with the printer.

Just goes to show the importance of getting it right the first time.

It isn't the because of the heat cartridge it is because you are at the danger zone of the peek melting.
I never go over 205°C.

with an enclosure, glass bed,& hairspray you should not have to go over 100°c on the bed.

The reason we recommend a higher temperature now is that the current motherboard reads temperatures sightly more accurately than before, and the machine is able to perform at (recorded temp) 215c.

"Since your Solidoodle is equipped with the newer motherboard, you should be using these temperatures:

Extruder: 215C
Build Plate: 105C

People with older motherboards should not use those temperatures.

So that's what I've been using aroundabouts with my new SD2.

Says right here 215C. I ran all day yesterday at 215.
