https://www.soliforum.com/topic/4685/filament-spool-bushings/ Thu, 28 Nov 2013 02:43:54 +0000 PunBB https://www.soliforum.com/post/42747/#p42747 On my 2 month old SD3 printer I was having problems with the filament spool.  Filament was prone to tangling and the spool to sticking, so I tried two changes:
1. Added a box (for other reasons) but provided a filament guide channel at the back of the box which aligns with the width position of the spool
2. Made up two bushings that plug into the ends of the spool. STL attached.  Note: I did add a UHMW film to the inside of the bearing bore  to remove any friction.
I can now leave the printer going all night knowing that the filament will not cause any print issues.
