Purchased a used solidoodle3 off eBay serial number 4926. I don't know age.

Works well except pid is not stable, bad enough to halt print. I know this was a problem in early Marlins. I have a lot of experience with a Prusa and Ramps and changing firmware. Found latest Marlin for Solidoodle and compiled and attempted to upload. No joy.

Tried:
- set board config in Arduino 1.0.5 to "Sanguino W/ ATmega1284p 16mhz"
- pushing reset before/after starting compile... using different delays. Many times.
- Tried changing Arduino board.text baud rate from 57600 to 38400

Keep getting:
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00

Questions:
1. Is there a way to set board to auto reset? Don't need stand alone mode.
2. Do you think reloading printboard boot files would help?
3. Did I select the right board in Arduino?
3. Should I chuck the printboard and switch to Ramps?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
