Good Morning all,

I know very little about modeling software or what types of files a 3d printer can ingest and produce from so I'm hoping you can connect a few dots for me.

I am working on an art project that will involve two photos (shot simultaneously with two exact cameras) of moving water in a confined space. Using Photosculpt it seems I could get basic 3d representation of the surface of the water with crests and troughs. I want to print that out as a bas relief.

My question for you is, what about the depth dimension? Can I tell the software or the printer how deep the relief should be? Can I even export from Photosculpt in a format that a printer would understand? Or do I need to export from Photosculpt into a more robust application first, fill in any missing data points, then go to print?

Knowing my project am I going in the right direction?

Thanks so much, I realize this is a broad question. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

Craig
