I unfortunately I went with the solidoodle 3
and I also purchased the larger version of the rigid bot however that hasn't come in yet.

I also strive to make my machines more accurate so I tend to spend more time doing so then
actually printing or cutting.

The solidoodle may suit your needs as a beginner however it doesn't have a dual extruder which has an additional learning curve as well.

Thank you, that info helps a lot!! Figured that it would take time getting acquainted with errors and the procedure but I'm looking forward to it.

Is this the printer you use? If so, what are some common problems and how often do they occur?

Would recommend the Flash Forge it's essentially a makerbot replicator clone with
some enhancements.

http://www.amazon.com/FlashForge-printe … 3d+printer

Price is $1200.00

Take in mind the lower you go on price the more you will spend messing around with the printer.

Not saying that more expensive printers don't require time, it's just you often will receive lower quality
parts which will make it that much more of a pain to deal with.

Honestly 3d printing is far from perfect and you may find your self printing an object more then once to get it right.

It's not quite hit the button and it's done yet, we still have a long way to go

You will have to figure out different temp settings based on material and color.
Adjusting parameters and infill based on the part
Different layers heights for quality which acquire adjustment
Figuring out the best way to orient a part to print well with or without supports.
Daily or weekly checks on making sure the bed is level

There's a lot to it then what the media and blogs tend to describe about it

Soliforum,

I am a Noob. I just created my account and can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for through the previous posts.

Terms are a little vague for me right now so I would like to experiment with a printer that doesn't need much assembly and requires minimal maintenance for a beginner. I would also like a printer that's able to print two colors for one build, for example: a two-toned iPhone case. Understandable that you get what you pay for - just looking for estimated prices for great printers. I'm hoping someone will be able to provide some input. :)

Summary: A printer that doesn't break down, easy to use/setup, and can print more than one color on a print job. Would also like estimated price if able to provide!

Thanks in advance,
Noob
