I've had similar. It ate up the nozzle, but stopped it before it got to the heater thank goodness. I managed to hack it off. The small piece of insulation was a writeoff though. It happens when the part detaches from the bed and gets stuck to the nozzle. The hot end just pumps more plastic into the middle making a bigger and bigger blob.

Yep, and any plastic that gets near the nozzle will melt as well, adding to the mix. Additional plastic is added to the bolus and it just keeps building. It's really not a pleasant situation, but if you can manage to extract it, you can check the PEEK to see if any plastic was leaking through the threads.

i'm pretty sure thats a problem with the peek. if it was coming from the extruder you would see multiple layers of lines and it would have built down instead you have what appears to be a shape formed like an icecream cone i've ssen that shape with mine as it comes out . (the nozzle and the peek come from soliddodle with a problem still grumpy over that

It's actually kind of beautiful. If you acknowledge the hot end as lost, I wouldn't even bother trying to free it. Just build a nice glass case to display this. You could probably sell it as art.
