The standard 1.75mm nozzle is drilled with a 1/16" bit, which leaves a hole of 1.58mm. You can move up to a 5/64" bit, which will make a hole of 1.98mm. That will probably get you in the ballpark.

If you have a metric set, you can probably go up 0.1mm at a time. I'd jump .4mm, then .1mm increments if you're using metric.

The relationship is due to die swell, which is a function of the polymer, temperature, and pressure. I would advise you to just move up one size at a time until at the desired diameter.

My thinking is that I could increase the size of the hole in the nipple to adjust for this, but I'm uncertain how much larger to make it.

Is there a specific relationship between the hole in the nipple and the size of the filament or is it a 1:1 ratio?

Any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
