			<description><![CDATA[<p>OK, I&#039;ve found at least one not very convenient way:</p><p>In netfabb, do a repair part.</p><p>Select a triange of interest.</p><p>Right click and say make selected triangles a new part.</p><p>Do an analysis of that (single triangle) part, which then gives you the overall dimensions and position, from which you can extract the info of interest.</p><p>A more convenient way would be welcome :-).</p>]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[find exact positions of parts of an existing .stl file?]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>If I want to import a .stl model in openscad and cut some bit out, it would be nice to be able to find the exact positions of the bit I want to cut. Is there a good tool for doing that? Perhaps something that would let me select individual trianges and ask the coordinates of the points?</p>]]></description>
