would it be best to try printing with the tail at the bottom then? because of the printer type i don't think that support struts are much help as support material is automatically piled round the model during printing then hosed off later.

The wings are a bit thin and are only comprised of 3 layers at .3mm resolution with a near horizontal angle (Picture2). Assuming they are trying to print this in horizontal position may be part of the problem.

If they are using full support material, see if they can print it in a vertical position. The geometry of the ship might support better layering of the wings. It would help to have some support rods modeled to the back of the ship to help stabilize it and give it a better platform to sit on.

i have a file originally created in sketchup and exported via various formats to blender. the sketchup file is considered a "solid group" in sketchup, so is watertight and the stl file which i eventually exported from blender is also watertight and printable according to "willit3dprint" and "netfabb". the file is attached in a number of formats it wouldbe appreciated if anyone could shed some light on why it is failing to print.
please note i have no printer at home and the printing is being done by an online service, i won't name them here, the printer type is an objet connex( where support material surrounds the model and must be hosed off after printing). i have more or less no pictures of what is wrong with the prints but have been told that there was "peeling" on the wings.
thank you

the zip file contains the sketchup model, some blender versions and some stl versions.
