Cutting/filing the washer takes only a few minutes for each backer, but with 470 kits, that's about 24 hours of work for me. The kits ended up shipping on time, something only 16% of Kickstarter projects manage to do.

I've since changed to dowel pins.

I have came across the same problem with mine. The set screw barley touches the wood block. I think I am going to make the hole bigger ever so slighlty. Some of the worse direction ever. The video on the link dosent help really since its for the first version. Also I dont like how I have to cut a washer to make a key for the price we all paid I think this should of been done prior to shipping.

All of the above observations are with the four flange bolts installed as well as the nylon spacers. Everything appears concentric, all of the changes are ever so subtle as you spin the shaft, but with such small clearance it all binds in the supports hole.

The set screw is completely tightened and biting into the auger.....but....as it compresses into the auger the coller cocks ever so slightly on the auger shaft. In combination with this the hole has only a few thousands clearance with the set screw. So as the auger spins with the coller slightly cockeyed in both the full toward position (the coller in contact with the front most flange), and fully compressed position (the coller in contact with the thrust bearing), the coller attempts to press flat against the above mentioned contacts, slightly twisting the auger in the pipe, causing binding in the pipe. Also...the 2-3 thousands clearance between the set screw and the wood has also closed on account of the auger twisting and the set screw comes into contact with the inner diameter of the hole in the support increasing the torque necessary to spin the shaft. The hole was also routed imperfectly so there is a small lip which the screw eventually catches on in its rotation and finally the auger is no longer able to rotate freely.

This is all in spinning by hand and observing the minute changes in the assembly. In repositioning the coller and retightening the set screw...no matter how many times I do it its all ways cockeyed. I think I'm going to make the hole a bit bigger and assemble it completely and just see if it works and go from there.
