So just to be clear, DO NOT put the heater block or thermisor in the acetone. The nozzle, brass barrel and peek assembly can all soak in it.

Acetone should work for that. Peek is resistant to most chemicals as is PFTE. The ABS should dissolve right out of there.

I replaced the hot end and it appears to be working like a champ. I think there is a jam in the peek tube that causes resistance so it doesn't extrude. Any suggestions on hoe to clean that out??

if your drive wheel on the extruder has too much filament built up on it from skipping then it may have trouble extruding over a new layer and yet be able to extrude into mid air... you might check it and clean with a small toothbrush if you see a lot of plastic in the grooves.

One way to check is to mark the drive wheel with a sharpie pen then start a print and look if the drive wheel still spins and the filament does NOT move when the print is going and the extruder stops printing.

I thought I had a clog in the extruder but after a cleaning, I am still having this issue where the plastic stops extruding while printing. If I stop the print job and do a manual extrude it works great. Any ideas?
