If you can print the magic wallet and its straps then your printer is setup properly. That heavily relies on a calibrated first layer for the straps.

It's all about tolerances. If you're designing art for art's sake, the first layer is relatively unimportant except that it exist in a useable form. The other layers flow on top and in time cover the issue.

If you're designing for tech specs, the first layer is uber important and must be able to match design specs like two parts coming together in fitment.

I level my bed for this even though most of my parts are just to be able to have fun. If I have to be able to join parts (either on the bottoms or even the sides) I need that close tolerance to mate them as close as possible.

It looks like a similar problem I had. The extruded filament gets laid and cools too quickly, then as the head comes back around the second time to lay in the next line, and the head gets lifted from the bed from the previously cooled line. So the effect gets amplified over time. I don't think there's any way to fix that problem because its probably impossible to keep the plastic molten after it has been extruded for that long.

I solved this by not caring...

...Kind of. If the part that you are making is pretty thick (1/4 Inch at least) and doesn't need to be exact or pretty, you can just leave it and the next layer will hide it. Your filament is clear so it wont hide anything, but the part should come out ok.

Fedebirromane, I do not think you have solved the issue. I think you have just stepped around it. I see the same problem you are having when my extruder is too close to the bed, and/or the bed is not level. I really firmly believe that if you were to print in that same area even rotated you would have the problem again.

The reason you are getting those white patches is, the machine has a little flex in it on purpose. you get a clump of filament That causes the extruder to move away from the bed just enough to extruder properly, this happens on every pass back past that raised area. I have seen this many times.

So while I thank you for the advice you gave me, i'm using the glass bed since last week i do a lot of prints (with the same inclined direction) without any problem. Yeah i recalibrated the z as first thing i'm using slicer with the default settings (i reset them when i put the glass bed) except for the infill pattern (rectilinear) and the brim. Now I'll try to print that file rotated 90 degrees ( no more / but \ ).

P.s i'm using a solidoodle 3 with the configuration files of a solidoodle 2 1mm is a big problem?

I would tend to agree... and yes, doing the basics first does clear them off the table as far as issues.

I can't really tell anything from that picture :-P. I would say instead of going worst case first, start with something that we know could be fixed easily (I.E. bed leveling, print head distances , extruder calibration, etc.)

Consistency of the area in which it failed to extrude tells me that there is something fundamentally different about that area that he is printing in.

EDIT:
File looks fine.

Looking at the pictures closer, I still think that checking print head distance should be first. Is this the first time printing on the glass bed? Did you adjust the z end stop screw to account for the additional height of the glass bed?

The problem that I have with that theory is that it looks like there is more than one layer in those images. If it was too close to the bed, then the next layer would be just about right and show a full layer rather than what's on the bed in the images. This is what I see with my warped bed. If his bed is warped, then the warping is not consistant over even a few square millimeters of the bed and it's more than a little "fubar."

you are way too close to the bed it looks like. The filament is basically not able to extrude. That portion of the bed my have slight warping but You should start with a bed re-alignment.

I upload the stl file in the first post, it's strange because i have problems only with that file. Usually i use netfabb to repair stl files.

Are you getting filament skipping? That would cause the gaps, but it's regular over the item, so it may not be that.

Can you post the STL? It may be an artifact from slicing, but the STL will probably show what we need to see to start.

Hi guys, in my last print (a long rectangle with a hole) i hade a problem, as you can see in the screen the filament was not distributed properly how i can resolve this issue? Thanks in advance

P.s printing is made on a glass bed
