Thank you I appreciate you looking out for me.  I will check that wiring.  I build computers like most people tie their shoes so it's no big deal for me to nuke an OS that isn't behaving.  I will tell you one thing though.. I've wanted to kill that Windows8 installation for months I couldn't stand it.

I've been building my own PCs since high school, but doesn't mean I want to do a total wipe if I don't have to   Just don't expect your SD to be 100% out of the box. I know it's advertised as such, but that is not necessarily the case. I posted a pic of my wiring issue (out of box) at the bottom of this thread. Mileage may very, but if you installed the correct drivers and made the necessary changes in the Repetier printer settings then I would look at the printer before suspecting the OS.

There can be some issues that appear to be connection or driver issues that are not.  When I received my SD3 the copper wire was not in the connector for the hotend thermistor. All along the issue appeared to be driver/connection related, but once I rewired the connector all was well. I wouldn't reinstall your OS until you thoroughly check your printer and determine it is not the issue....just my .02
