Here is my recently assembled filastruder and mods.

ww.youtube.com/watch?v=I76zzJEa6BA (I can't post functional links yet, so add a w)

Autostart Mod:
The PID has a second relay that is designated as an alarm relay in the PID instructions. This can be wired to activate the extrusion motor automatically at the desired setpoint. Extend the jumper from terminal 4 to terminal 5. Attach the + wire from motor to terminal 6. Press the "set" button for a few seconds until AL1 appears on the display. Adjust setpoint to desired motor start temperature. Press "set" once, and press again for a few seconds to return to the hotend temperature and extrusion setpoint display (normal operating mode). This also automatically deactivates the motor when the temp falls below the alarm setpoint. This might save some strain on the motor if the heating system fails.
Because the switches are 3 position (center off) you can have one of the on positions for the motor wired for autostart, and the other on position wired for manual motor start.

Alarm Mod:
The same alarm relay can be wired to a buzzer and/or LED signal that activates at set temperature. This can be wired in parallel with the autostart or in place of it. This allows you to multitask while waiting for your filastruder to reach temp, and alerts you to start the motor or lets you know to check in on it as it starts to extrude on its own. A small switch deactivates the alarm for uninterrupted extrusion, or if you have the 3 position switch wired for autostart/off/manual start, you can just have the audible alarm wired in parallel with the autostart wiring and switch to manual extrusion to deactivate the alarm (though this would also deactivate the safety feature of auto-shutdown.

Filament Guide Mod:
I sacrificed a spare carpentry tool that I had laying around that had a nice track cut into it to provide an easy-to-adjust filament guide that also provides easy access to the hotend in case you need to tear it down or make adjustments to the insulation. Also, if you put an additional screw under the copper filament guide, it keeps it in place and allows better vertical adjustment by screwing it in and out.

I can update the wiring diagram with these additions. I'm sure visuals would help clarify my descriptions.

Enjoy!
