No, they sent back the broken monitor & I have some claims forms to fill out & fax back, then I will receive a check for the amount requested (once approved) to replace the monitor, plus shipping.

Forms are OTW & after I fax them back in, they will send a check.

NEVER pack a machine like the router in a cardboard box.
Build a box around it with hardboard (Masonite) or light plywood after ataching it to a heavy piece of wood on the bottom.
Place a garbage bag over the machine and use can foam insulation to fill voids on all sides and squirt some on the top just before you seal it up.
With this type of packing you'll almost never have any damage. I've shipped several custom made 1/20th scale locomotives that cost over $20,000 this way and never any damage.
ALWAYS buy the insurance. It is easier to get the claim paid with it.

Never sign for a package before opening and inspecting it. That away if there is any damage, it can be noted on the bill. If it is damaged, you can refuse it. 

If the package is not up to industry standards, the claim will be denied because of the packaging.

Never use Fedex. They are the worse in paying claims and have higher damage ratio that UPS, DHL and USPS.
(i was shipped a locomotive valued at $1000 and the gentleman that sent it to me, took it to a Fedex store to have it packed and shipped. When I received it, some detail parts were damaged and it looked like it happened when it was being packed. $40 in damage claim denied cause the packaging was good enough.)

Even though they can't look inside your box to see how well it was packed, they can deduce that it was not properly packed because it failed to withstand the highest level of abuse they could inflict on it.

The lady called me & said they were shipping it back to me so I can prove the damage isn't my fault, which is going to be difficult, as it was already opened & contents removed.

Got updates from the buyer, evidently UPS broke my carefully packed LCD monitor in transit, now the buyer is waiting on claims. He said that the box bottom was bulged out from supporting weight, which makes no sense, the bottom of the box was heavy duty cardboard formed around a thick piece of plywood shipping crate.
Sounds like UPS disregarded my box labels indicating 'fragile' - 'This end up!' - and their own rules to lift from the bottom with their legs, not their back.

Good ole UPS, wish Solidoodle would quit using them too, bad experiences across the board.

Yup, I KNOW I packed my shipment properly, I know I bubble wrapped the monitor, secured it & labeled the box, this end up & fragile... Then it arrived beat up...

And this:

I called UPS & went to the extension that the lady put on the letter & she must have known it was me before we spoke as she picked up the phone & hung up immediately (I heard her) then I called back & got her voicemail & after explaining that I was aggravated at her for hanging up on me after I held on the line to talk to her, I proceeded to tell them how wrong they were about their denying the claim because of how carefully everything was packed and secured. Then I told the voicemail box that I would pursue legal action with my family attorney.
It probably wouldn't have been so aggravated of a message if I hadn't:
a)Gotten home, grabbed the mail, let my dog in from the front hallway only for him to immediately stop & diarrhea on our carpet.
b) opened the letter right after said diarrhea cleanup/washing hands/putting away groceries.
c) Got hung up on immediately after holding to speak with the lady from the extension right after I entered the extension number & wound up speaking to a very hard to understand operator who explained to me that I needed to dial the lady's extension that I had just dialed.... GAH!

I REALLY DISLIKE UPS!
