I emailed formfortura and basically they say the extruding temperature is to low. I've got it set to 205C and it still won't extrude well enough. They have suggested slowing the print speed right down to see how that helps so will try that tonight hopefully.

I'll still try heating some up in the oven, however 80 Degrees C is the glass point of their ABS so would have to be well under this temperature to stop it from warping the filament itself. (I don't actually know what Glass point means but I presuming something to do with changing properties)

I don't run into it much. I keep my spools long term in a tub with a dehumidifier rod designed for gun safes. I leave the current spool out without much trouble, but I live in Southern California where the humidity is usually around 35%.

I wondered that, but its brand and was in a bag with silica gel, i appreciate this doesn't mean its not wet! Grrrr i can't get anything to stick now at all... So frustrating i can't see how people can actually print 6 hour plus prints on this thing. I've spent more time adjusting the machine between prints and waiting for the bed temperature to rise again then actually printing.

Thanks ian I will decant a few metres and try it cheers

P.s. how long do your rolls last in your home before suffering from this?

Hi is anyone else having difficulty extruding formfortura filament?

I have had no problems with the white and green, but failed missrably with the blue and yellow, i've not dared try the black yet.

I have been extrudeing at solidoodles 195 to 205 with the same results (i have been fine with 195 for the white and green) i beleive solidoodle actual temp is around 35 degree higher then this?

The filament comes out rough and just won't stick or squish flat enough and blocks the nozzle here is a photo of the roughness.

I have tried extruding 50mm prior to printing and its comes out just fine. I've adjusted my depth to platform from squished flat up until its just no being pressed on to the platform at all. All i can think of is the temperature needs to be higher?

Appreciate any advise? The material is brand new.

Rregards
