Have you switched Repetier Host to use the correct serial port ? By default it will connect to "VirtualPrinter" which simply 'mimics' a printer... you need to go into Config->Printer Settings and ensure its on the correct Com Port.

However, on a bright note (boom tish), if the printer 'lights up', then its getting power, as the LED's are powered via the external power supply and not the USB...

So I really suspect its simply a comport issue. Check where the Arduino shows up under Device Manager, and then make sure that port @ 250000 Bps is selected in Repetier-Host.

Hi,
We have bought a Solidoodle3 from th Imakr store in London. at the moment we can't do even a test print.
Have installed python 3.3,Reptier - Host and USB driver on windows 32 bit laptop but cannot see the new device.
I switched the plug to the power suply to a UK plug with 3A fuse, the printer lights up and acording to Reptier the Extuder heats up but will not retract to allow the filament to be cleared.
On the power supply unit the light is green but on the control panel at the back of the printer there is a red light by the E letter.

reading the forum I think that either:

I might have a hardware problem with thepower supply?
or
I have not installed the right software drivers?

have emailed solidoodle help but hoping might get a faster reply here.

Have re-installed drivers but running out of ideas, any help apprecated?

also, any UK solidoodle users in London?

Thanks Alun
