I would only worry that there might be some distillation if the forum has too many sub categories.

I think this would be a great place to bounce some ideas around. One of the reasons I bought my printer was to develop some things I couldn't buy at the local store. Cases, mounts, etc.

The Solidoodle has sparked my interest in Arduino projects and I'm currently putting together an electronic timing system for track and field. I'd love to have a relevant section where this could be discussed and I could seek help where needed.
