I grabbed a fan gaurd stl off thingaverse and scaled guards for all my fans 30mm on up. printed it saves damage to fans by 'pokey fingers' like friends/family too. they think their helping trouble shoot probs by poking everything lol

I have "devaned" it several times. So much so that when I replaced the fan last I bought and installed one of those in expensive mesh type fan filters and never had an issue again.

Anyone that is concerned about damaging the fan or their fingers should design a guard for the fan. Problem solved. These printers are on the market in a price range that beats the competition. Anything they add like a fan guard, or other upgrades increase the cost. Sure, they could add a $1 fan guard but if they took all of the upgrade suggestions in this forum, they would easily have a $1,500 printer instead of one that is far below the $1,000 price point. I am interested in adding additional components to my printer to improve it but I can do it one piece at a time as I can afford it.

I was more concerned with breaking the fan than hurting my fingers. From my incident, it doesn't have enough force to inflict severe damage unless your fingers are small or brittle.
