Thanks, tried out both decreasing retraction and distance... the only thing that seemed to happen is the gaps turn to bulges and stray strands of ABS are everywhere. I tried the baseline setting for retraction which was 2 down to 0 and increments of 0.5mm in between those two values. I noticed that the extruder on some layers gets to that gap point in my image above, where it's going from layer X to layer Y and dropping the bed, and instead of continuing around the perimeter of the box it cuts across the center? Why would it be doing that? It seems to be on random layers in the middle of the print.

It looks like your retraction settings are wrong, which there could be several ways to correct it. Decrease retraction speed, decrease distance, increase startup distance.

Search here for retraction and see what the other slic3r people are using. I don't use that program.

I have very pronounced issues along the Y-axis when I do a single wall calibration box on my SD3. I've gone and followed the extrusion calibration and the circle calibration steps from solidoodle support, leveled the bed, but for some reason it seems like it's always in this same spot, it leaves a bit of a gap? The extruder head also shifts from one side to the other there, crossing the center of the box rather than just following the perimeter.
This effect is mostly seen when I do the single wall calibration box, but you can see even when I did a rotary engine, the side shows an unsmoothness. Any ideas how to correct this are appreciated! Thanks.

I'm using repetier, standard Slic3r 0.3mm profile for these.
