With Fusion you only get the history tree if you are a paying customer. If you are using the free preview, you have to get it right the first time. I usually go into a design with a general idea of what I am doing, and work out the details as I go. It's hard to do that without going back and changing dimensions as you work out how everything relates to each other. I use Alibre, and want to branch out a little but it's hard when you are used to one program and can get what you want quickly. Just about everything I draw in a sketch needs to be a set distance from something else. In Alibre it's easy to draw something in, click two elements and enter the distance they need to be from each other, causing one or the other to move into position. In everything else I've tried, that process is either less direct, or less precise.

Kendall, I use Alibre Design 2012 PE. I have been really happy with the power and depth of this program, a lot like SolidWorks, really, but way less money. Going to upgrade to their Pro version soon. The learning curve, for me, was a tad steep at times, but never overwhelming, and certainly worth the effort. Using the online tutorials (absolutely pay for these, IMO) will greatly help you get through the rough patches. The package I bought also includes live chat, a nice feature when you're really stuck on how to do something. The "history tree" lets you go back in time and change any feature you want. I'm sure if I was willing to pay thousands for SolidWorks I'd like that too. Good luck!
