If you want to draw a 3D model yourself - that's understandable. But sometimes it is better to find a ready-made 3D model like yours or exactly the same one on the web. Like this one. Look on Thingverse or craftyhangouts.com sites.

123d is probably not ideal for gear making, but it can be done

A wedge unless allowed to vary in 123 is consistent in all width and height.

use the circular patterning tool with a small wedge to make the gear teeth.. you are going to need to have a good idea of how many teeth you need for this step.

dont forget to merge everything together once you have it laid out the way you want it.. then export as stl
