that is not something you are going to be able to just buy - especially since Solidoodle is no longer.

for glass bed, i kind of like my cheap mirror tiles, but to each their own.
a good coating of hairspray to stick the glass to the bed, then a couple of light coats on top for adhesion promotion. smile

]]> Mon, 26 Aug 2019 23:16:06 +0000 https://www.soliforum.com/post/151323/#p151323 <![CDATA[Re: Need some help finding this part for my (new to me!) printer!]]> https://www.soliforum.com/post/151317/#p151317 Glue that back together with wood glue and clamp it well.  The old wood bed platforms performed as well or better than the newer aluminum style.  No need to over think it.  As far as the rubbery paper, that was not original SD nor was the glass.  Go to a local hardware store and have a new piece of glass cut.  Do a forum search on glass beds and/or hairspray.  You’ll find everything you ever needed to know on the subject.

I just received a Solidoodle 2 from my dad, I brought it back from Pennsylvania, and unfortunately TSA and the shipping guys between flights broke it. I'm trying to get it running again, I know I need a new glass for the bed, but the main issue is the part that moves the bed up and down on the Z axis broke.

I've been trying to locate one used online but can't seem to find the name of this part. I've dabbled at possibly making one so I drew it up in solidworks and was thinking of making one at my school on the CNC out of Aluminum and making it as light weight as possible, but I'd rather just purchase something to begin printing as soon as I can!

Can you guys help me in locating what I need? Here's some pictures of the printer once I opened it from bringing it back.

This is the really rough quick part I drew up in solidworks, if I had to go this route it would be quite a bit more refined, and material shaved off wherever possible since I'm unsure how much weight that motor for the z axis is comfortable with.

I'm also interested in replacing that white-ish rubbery paper that was under the glass bed. I know it's not required, but my dad had told me it transfers heat to the glass better? So if you all know the name of that so I can begin finding that too, that would be great!!
