So the rule of thumb here is unless the upgrade fixes a specific issue you have it is best to leave it alone.

I currently use nfc stickers (I do not reset the chips) to use 3p PLA. Will I get any feature upgrading the firmware? Will I still be able to use my nfc stickers?
