do not know carl as it is an I 3 clone he is building I assumed open source . and I do not even see that product listed in the link you gave. hopefully the videos will give proper info.

There in lies the problem with these Chinese companies and clones. There are two names coming out of China. One is CT'c which is the link I supplied and the printer I have which is all metal and cost $900 at the time. Then there is CTC which is an umbrella company composed of several companies selling under the same name and are clones of clones and much more cheaply made.

So I guess the confusion is on my part as when he said CTC I assumed a real CT'c and not a cloned CTC. After looking at the real CTC site they do not have a Prusa style machine.

The CTC machines are clones of Makerbot machines. They use a controller which is a clone of the mighty board. As such they run on software called ReplicatorG (http://replicat.org/) or RepG for short. They will also work on Makerbots official software (https://www.makerbot.com/3d-printers/ap … /download/) and the not free Simplify3D. Sadly CTC chose a not open source route for many of their machines.

That all being said there should be a memory card with the machine that has the software on it.

Also Marlin will not work on these boards. If you want a bit more control you can flash them with Sailfish but take note of all of the firmware settings as they will be zeroed out after the flashing and need to be set by you.
