All you need is cheap NTAG213 paper stickers, the app and a phone that has NFC capability.

If you don't have the phone. then yes you will need the first two items but instead of the NTAG card get stickers. The reason is you have to throw them away once the machine has seen them. You cannot reuse them so they need to be cheap and disposable.

The mini Maker was never capable of using hacked tags.

What app did you download and why would you follow instructions that are not supplied by the same location as the app?

I also believe past a certain firmware it is no longer possible to reset a chip of NTAG that has been seen by the printer. You have to use a new NTAG in place of the chip on the current filament.
