Would you have a link to the brass drive gear?  They looked pressed onto the motor shaft.  Are they actually replaceable?

This is not immediate and can kill a print after some time has elapsed. The printer doesn't use the photo sensor to keep track of filament usage. That is calculated by the controller, using extrusion thickness and feed rates.
