It is the right tool for the job. and not that expensive. I would say anyone not haveing one in there tool kit should jet one.

I would actually say a ceramic screwdriver is necessary. If you slip even just on the stepper you could blow it out. Yes a stepper driver is only 5 to 10 bucks but a ceramic screwdriver is about the same cost on ebay or amazon and it will keep you from blowing one or more stepper drivers. Up to you in the long run but to me not worth the risk. Of course now I have an Azteeg X5 GT with Bigfoot stepper drivers so current is controlled through the firmware and no pots.

+1 to TinFalcon. This was a daunting task when I first got my Solidoodle 3. I was afraid of doing something that could brick the system. Please follow the instructions in this video. (Ceramic screwdriver not necessary but just make sure you don't slip off the stepper driver controller).

I promise this is (as with most things in this forum) easy after you do it for the first time.

I have built and calibrated my G2S delta printer. this is my 2nd printer but my first one was already built so I have no experience in calibrating a printer from scratch.
it has a GT2560A board. My problem is the stepper motors keep skipping. I have checked the belts are tight enough but the skipping still continues. from what I can tell I need to adjust the current on the steppers but I have no experience in doing anything like this so I am a bit wary in just playing with the settings till it works in case I break something.
Can anyone give me a simple laymans guide to setting these as all the guides i have found get really technical and i get confused.
can someone help me please????
