The extruders are interchangeable. The button is part of the Z-min sensor that is used in auto-leveling, if supported by your printer. I suggest confirming voltage is being sent to the X-carriage. You can find the voltage (during heating) at the controller board, on the ribbon cable that connects to your X-carriage. Pins 1-8 and 11-19 are the + and - feeds to the hot end. They terminate in the X-carriage in the black plug. Here are photos of the ribbon cable

...the black connector

...and the Z-min sensor assembly.

Hi all,

I've had my Jr 1.0 for a year and overall it has served me well. About a month ago I had a problem where the extruder just wouldn't , well, extrude. I cleaned it out as best I could but it wasn't working. So I ordered a replacement extruder. This arrived, but I noticed there was a difference, on this new extruder there is a little plastic section on the side with a white plastic switch of sorts (not sure if this is relevant)

So new nozzle looks like this

https://cdn03.plentymarkets.com/ioseuwg … 187c-0.png

whereas my original one looked like this

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0180/ … 1526865358

Anyway, I digress.

Now I'm facing an issue, the new head at the start wouldn't load the filament at all, I tried changing filament, but no difference. Now I noticed when trying to load filament, the temperature doesn't increase, the fan on the extruded doesn't turn on either.

Have I just bought the wrong extruder? Or is there something else I should check, I'm at a loss!

Many thanks
