The cost to try if it works on your machine is also minimal. I would recommend you try this method first and ask questions in corresponding post if need any help.

The filament spools have a chip in the middle. Would buying paper nfc tags be the easiest method I was hoping I can use the method where you edit the gcode while your tag is on 0 but I tried this morning with no luck . Any help at all would be appreciated

Does your printer use the same filament as the JR and MINI? If so you should look at one of those solutions. There are many posted in this forum.

This coming from an old XYZ owner. They are cheap for a reason. I also don't believe that this model is well known enough for people to spend time hacking it. You just never hear about this model much.
