I fail to understand how sophos alarm thingy is going to help me jennings.john.st

It's a spam bot that keyed on one of your words.

The results of my very first print, no fiddling before hand, I wanted to get an idea of just how good my building is because you may agree, build has something to do with the amount of fine tuning that you need to do.

These were done with a 0.2mm layer height

Only one minor defect but that is not going to take away from the rigidity or strength as I chose to go for a 40% infill with 1.2mm walls seeing as this is going to be a structural part... I wasn't going to wait 12 hours for a completely solid print.

Really appreciated all the input, very helpful and hope that this thread is helpful to others who are unfortunate enough to have bought one of these printers.

The brim have some bed adhesion issue, I can not tell if first layer have similar issue from the picture, you might want to try slow brim printing speed down. First layer and brim usually print at speed slower than 30mm/s, if you already printing slower than 30mm/s, try increase nozzle temperature or use more glue or hair spray.

Overall quality is not bad considering you just got everything working and have not include any mod yet. I definitely saw lots of worse print that people post on facebook happily came from their $500+ printer.

I will warn you on printed motor mounts as that appears to be. I had a Kossell mini that had printed motor mounts. If the motors get very warm they make the mount soften and if it is under belt tension the constant pull will cause the motor to bend at an angle causing issues with alignment. So you may want to print fans mounts and get fans for the motors that are mounted to plastic.

Its a GeeeTech, its going to melt anyway...

I don't intend on doing anything that requires very long print times. I think that 4 hours is going to be the most that I would ever put myself through.

So overheating I think is not going to be much of an issue.

When I start dropping to 0.2 and 0.15 nozzels is when I will be looking at a more robust metal framed beast so that its got rigidity and all mountings will be metal...

Think of Christmas when you were 8 with the bonus of a kid in the candy shop.

For a first print, its looking very nice, even if I do say so myself.

I trammed the bed again, played with a few settings, got it to print the first piece which is about an hour from finishing.

Its a mounting bracket for the broken one that needs replacing and I hope that it will last the print!!!

I am wondering if turning on compatibility mode, treat the program as if its an older legacy program and see if that solves the problem.

In the meantime re-calibrate and try and print from this baby...
