I know this is old but in case others come looking. I’ve been using MG Chemicals 500kg spools over the XZY spools, I can confirm that those DO fit the Jr (I’m using Pro but should be the same).

Most people set up a system to feed from the outside of the printer. Only XYZ brand is designed to fit this printer. Third party filament from all vendors comes on an industry standard 1KG spool. Even 500g spools still come on a half filled 1KG spool.
