Although you may need Hairspray as well. PETG is finicky but once dialed in is wonderful stuff to print with.

the 2X has a heated bed and the nozzles are good up to 250°C
I a running all stock using,  Kapton abd makerbot desktop
hopefully within the next month I will upgrade to Simplify3d.

If memory serves none of the current makerbots have a heated bed. If you do have a heated bed then you need to heat it to 90 and your hotend needs to be able to reach 230 to 250. PETG and PETG+ are the only material I use on my FDM machine. The PETG+ has Polycarbonate added for added toughness.
