It's a Makerbot issue. They use a closed firmware and closed host. The user has very little control of any of the printer settings.  You Basically pick between Low, Medium, or High quality.

Nice they did not mention that in the manual.. Although most of the time 80 to 90% is close enough to solid there is not much difference in strength.

I tend to agree.  Looking at the top surface, the jagged junction between the square perimeter and diagonal fill are an indicator for me.

Since you are on a Makerbot it may be hard to dial it in. I can't remember how much liberty their Host and firmware gives a user.
