Oh, wow. I just assumed it was hooked up to a sensor and was struggling to get home. I've been in smaller apartments where the printer has stayed in storage for a while. Now that I have my own place, i guess I'll try to calibrate it properly again.
Thanks

To my knowledge the tab just scrapes the nozzle tip, it is not a sensor of any kind. The actual home sensor is in the side of the X carriage and is an optical sensor. There is plastic tab on the side of the print head that slips in to the sensors slot to make the head know when it is home. The sensor is called an endstop and all three axis have one.

I have an older Da Vinci 2.0 (2014) with only one nozzle/filament combo. Looks like the current market models are fancier, but this is how mine works.

Anyway, a while back I set it to print and walked away, not realizing that it was extremely poorly calibrated. It snapped the little metal tab in the dripbox that it uses to know when it's home/clean the nozzle.

Anyone know anything about replacing this? My initial thought was "I can just find some other metal to replace it with," but I have no earthly idea where to find something that's quite as rigidly springy as the OEM's material, and I don't know what size to select. Does anyone know where I could find material to replace this/a replacement dripbox that would fit my printer? I'll post pics if they are requested/would help.
