			<description><![CDATA[<p>another point may be those different colour surfaces in the preview, have you checked that your surfaces are oriented correctly, you may have the a surface facing the wrong way which might confuse the software.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I have never had a problem with an stl file exported from CAD - which CAD are you using - I use Microstation, I generate a solid, then generate another solid for the interior, which I insert into position and subtract from the original solid, the handle would be another solid that would be merged into the original. my da vinci 1.0s is stock and only ever tries to repair files that I have obtained from elsewhere. another trick for the interior, is to take the original shape, copy it,scale it to get the wall thickness you require then insert into the&nbsp; inside and once again subtract the internal solid from the external one, the important thing is to work with solids - not meshes. I could also do exactly the same in AutoCAD as Microstation, but its more fiddly, so I prefer microstation for 3d work. by the way I used to be a drawing office manager, so I really do know my CAD (this is why my machine is stock - all I wanted was a machine I could plug and play without having to fiddle with settings - accepting the fact that I would be paying more for the reels of filament).</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks All of you who has helped!</p><p>I exported the .stl from the CAD program directly, that seemed to help that the XYZ software was able to transform into a seemingly good looking print format.<br />The problem now is nozzle being clogged... :-( But thats another problem.</p><p>Thanks Guys!</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Another thought would be to load it into Meshmixer and see what that tool has to say.&nbsp; It will point out each issue and correct them for you.&nbsp; It may or may not be enough to make it slice correctly.&nbsp; Can&#039;t hurt to try.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>A CAD model is fine as long as it is complete and void of imperfections like this one. Most CAD software can export directly to STL. TinkerCAD is a quick and dirt modeling software that is easy to use for simple things like this. Other software is out there just Google 3D modeling software of 3D printing. There are also several threads here in this forum that has asked the same question about software to use.</p>]]></description>

Form .igs and the CAD model.</p><p>Would another than the XYZware make it better and how to use that for printing with the XYZ printer?</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Based on what I see in your image the model is not good for printing. All those irregular surfaces will be interpreted by the slicer as solids. You are going to need to remake that model and figure out a way to hollow it so the inside surface is smooth. I would try using inverted domes and a hollow dome as well to make the hollow. Not sure what software you use to develop models but surfaces must be clean for 3d printing. Rough edges and stuff like I see in this model can be interpreted as another surface by the slicer.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>There is no attached file. But if you are actually printing it upside down then chances are you have supports turned on and the slicer is adding those supports where there would be overhangs such as the handle and the interior.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p><p>I am trying to print a bowl with a handle in my XYZ Printing Da Vinci Jr 1.0.<br />The CAD mode in IGS, seems to be of good quality, with a large cavity in the middle (being a bowl, that is), also with holes and cavities as should be in the handle of the bowl for hanging the finished bowl.<br />The model is imported with some warning for having to be repaired, which I acknowledge and let the XYZware to, in to the program seeming to be a correct CAD model still.<br />Then when making an attempt to print this model, the software calculates and slices and in the process fills all the cavities, making the bowl rather useless.<br />Why?<br />And how to overcome this feature of the program?<br />Any ideas please... :-)</p><p>The uploaded file showing the bowl up side down with the cavity facing downwards.</p><p>/P</p>]]></description>
