Aliexpress is the consumer side of Alibaba. They are one in the same company where Alibaba usually does business with other businesses and require bulk buys where as Aliexpress does business with individuals and allows single or small number buys. In short Alibaba owns Aliexpress.

True, Alibaba do owns Aliexpress and many school and college, bank, and AI chip company in China, but customer protection on Alibaba b2b platform is very little, individual customer usually don't get good experience on the b2b platform. Also the product introduction and documentation related to the product is also minimal on Alibaba. In short, individual customer get much better shopping experience in Aliexpress than Alibaba.

Alibaba and ali-express are different platform, I do not buy from Alibaba, it is b2b platform and have no much customer service or customer protection.

ali-express is more like amazon, it is b2c platform and offer buyer protection and keep track of seller reputation. You can dispute in ali-express if not happy with seller's response, I have so far no need to dispute because seller with good reputation all address my issue in satisfactory manner and try very hard to stop me from initiate a dispute. So far my only complaint for aliexpress is slow shipping. 2-3 weeks is very common. I would buy from amazon for parts needed in timely manner.

OK so the MKS gen 1.4 is a 8 bit board the mks sbase 1.3 is a 32 bit board. Sorry for the confusion

If you don't mind put RAMPS board and LCD out of the case, go RAMPS direction. There is nice box you can print to house and protect RAMPS board and LCD with cooling fan. Disadvantage with this plan is you need lots of long cable for endstop and step motor depend on where you want to mount the box. Good cable making and management is important, otherwise you end up with unstable system. Most of cable disconnection will likely lead to printer stop or reboot.

If you want to keep main board inside, MKS is better choice, there will only LCD cable and SD card reader cable came out of the printer case, and even if any of these two cable gets disconnected (which is unlikely due to the solid plug and relative strong cable), printer will keep running just fine.
