I am using XYZWare for my Da Vinci Jr. 1.0w, with regular firmware and all software updated to the latest version. I am having problems with some prints, especially with printing several objects in one go. After studying the problem for weeks, I realized that the problem is the retraction: When the print head has to move a distance without printing, the printer "retracts" the filament by letting the stepper motor run backwards, in order to prevent oozing. It appears that somehow my printer is retracting too much. So if I print objects with a lot of void space or several objects at once, the printer ends up retracting so much that no more PLA is coming out of the nozzle at the places where he is supposed to print.

Is there any way to change the retraction parameter in XYZWare to fix this? I can't seem to find it!

There is no advanced mode in the standard xyzware. ( At least I cannot find it )
Time to move to Cura, or Slic3r anlong with threedub to get full control over your prints.
Study the threads on how to do this.
