Once I factor in taxes and shipping fees (to toronto), it's about $41 CAD a kg if I get the 3 spool package. Not sure what their rates are for shipping out west.

where do you get yor filament from ?
thats one thing i was not too sure about. there have to be somewhere in canada to buy that good stuff.

i am a mechanic, working on a fleet of heavy duty trucks.
couple years ago a made a mistake, i bought a lathe and a milling.
(thats where things gets interesting)
too dumb to use a milling, i tought that having a computer doing it for me would be easier. . . . . .
i did a cnc conversion, built the electronics and got that thing going.
because i have no patience, and i sometime want small stuff quickly(especially for prototyping), i decided to add a 3d printer to my shop. . . .thats where i am right now. got that solidoodle 2 days ago, struggling with the software and driver problems right now but i should get some parts going in a week or so. . . .hopefully.

i am not a programmer or machinist or a geek,  am the end user who wants that stuff to be plug and play cause i have a lot to do and not too much time to do it.
