Hello Mr. Preston,

I am interested in ASA filament for my industrial 3d printer. I believe that it should made from Geloy CR7500.
Original filament ASA is working good.
Temperature of Tip (nozzle) for ASA on 3d printer =340 °C (not open for regulation)
I tested 3 other filament producers. And all of them clog the Tip quickly.

Coud you tell me what Tip temperature did you use on 3d printer for filament ASA Geloy CR7500?

I wanted to try ASA filament because of Thomas Sanladerer's filaween video. I only found two different types of ASA pellets on ebay, ASA TW-23V and ASA GELOY CR7500. I went with ASA GELOY CR7500 since the TW-23V had a really low melt flow rate.

Extruder:
Nozzle Diameter: 1.6mm
A vertical Filastruder v2.0 #2690 with a filawinder

Drying:
I always dry my pellets before use. I used a toaster oven at 70°C for about 6 hours. The image shows the pellets on the tray after drying.

Extrusion:
Temperature: 195°C
Extrusion Rate: 4-5" per minute
Average diameter: 1.76 +/- 0.02mm

Printer:
Robo 3D R1 Plus, E3D v6, Hardened steel 0.4mm nozzle, acrylic enclosure

Prints:
Temperature: 240°C/80°C
Speed: 50mm/s
Layer height: 0.2mm
Infill: 25%
Fan speed: 25%

3D Benchy

Make magazine test

Comparison to available filament:
I've never bought ASA filament before, so I cant really compare this to anything. It seems to do small details and overhangs better than ABS, but it's layer adhesion is pretty weak. I might try printing with the temp up more.

Takeaway and comments:
The extrusion was really slow and there weren't really any benefits to this over ABS. The diameter was really consistent though and there weren't much fumes. I probably won't be getting any more of this unless I can get the print quality better.
