So one needs a twitter account to try this on windows ? i saw a few files on github but they do not make a lot of sense . I see that you and others are beta testing windows . what a great idea. Just picked up a roll of petg and am building an ft5 so this could be interesting.

Not long at all! The VP programs I've beta tested the past two days work on OSX or Windows, and are available if you DM @dkvef445 on Twitter.

The basic steps for this were:

1) Export gcode for the vase just like normal, except change all speed values to the same value and disable any minimum layer time. I used 30mm/s for PETG.

2)Open Velocity Painting program and select gcode from step 1. Then select the pattern/picture you want to 'paint' onto the surface. The High and Low settings are the High speed and Low speeds that the head will move at to produce the shading effect. I used 10mm/s for Low and 30mm/s for High. Select the destination folder where you want it to save the painted.gcode and hit Generate!

3) If all goes well you should have a painted.gcode file ready to print! I don't own, but am told that S3D will preview the gcode with the speed changes in different colors, letting you preview the painting effect before actually printing it. I tried doing this with previews in Cura and Repetier-Host but it didn't work.

I've been following Mark Wheadon's(https://twitter.com/MarkWheadon) Velocity Painting process on twitter for a while and it's really neat! Basically he wrote a script that alters the gcode of a print to speed up or slow down the head so the difference in speed produces different shades of the same color. I highly encourage you to check out his Twitter page for some really great examples, especially his print of Adalinda by loubie(http://www.thingiverse.com/make:295944).

Come along Guillaume(https://twitter.com/dkvef445) who wrote the beta programs to run on OSX and Windows recently, and now anyone can enjoy Velocity Painting!

I attached my first test print with V.P. and it came out pretty well on our TAZ5 in PETG.
