Personally,  I would buy a spare ATMega1284 instead (10$, and actually you can also directly replace the 644 that you have and keep that as a spare) and maybe an extra Pololu driver (other 10$) as it's unlikely that you will destroy all of them at the same time.

It can also be used as a spare part? Visually, I carefully compared, differences from the fee which solidudl put on their printer seems to be no.
