You could pull the latest version of Marlin from Git and set it up for your machine.  I have done this and you will notice little to no improvement from your printer.  There's only so much firmware can fix.

I followed the steps from one of the other threads and was stuck for a bit trying to use 1.0.5 as suggested but going back to the older IDE worked. Is this the favorite firmware? Anything newer out there? I didn't have room for Z hysteresis and wobble so I just loaded wobble as I'm having tons of issues with my prints and have already put spring loaded fix onto Z axis.

^-- this is the version I uploaded after updating configuration header and recompiling -- apparently it's like 3 years old so I thought there must be something newer?
