Question about hotends/extrudes for Junior

So I got a junior during Black Friday last year.

Something I have found odd is that XYZ has apparently released 3 versions of its extruder.

There is the stock version.

There is a upgraded one with a mysterious addon made for the wifi unit, but you can buy and use it on the jr 1.0.

Now there is a 0.3mm version of the upgraded one. It will ALSO work on the Jr 1.0.

It's pretty obvious what benefits the 0.3mm nozzle has, but does anyone know exactly what the extra addition does on the upgraded hotend? Does it actually improve print quality if you use the upgraded firmware?

Also has anyone seen where to buy the 0.3mm nozzle?
