I turned out that the steppers I bought were junk.  Removed the original Palolus from the Sang, put them on the RAMPS board, and never looked back.

I had some issues with mine shifting on the Y axis, so I tightened the Y loop belt and that fixed it for a while. until the Y loop belt finally broke and had to be replaced.

It seems after 2 layers the printer wants to shift layers. I can cheat, by pausing and hitting home, lowering the z and then resuming print. Even then, it will still want to shift on the next layer. It does it starting the perimeter on the next layer. I've checked and the nozzle isn't dragging and the e stops look like nothing is touching them. Just can't figure this one out.

If you have a loose or intermittent wire to an end stop the logic will see it as a trigger every time the wire opens. It will then mark that point as home and progress the print with the new home as reference.
