hmmm... looks very interesting... might have to grab one of these and try it out.

currently takes 10-15 mins to hit 100C with the stock heat pad on my thicker aluminum plate/mirror combo on #1 - and then I have issues with the edges not getting warm enough to hold larger parts...even after it has been on for a while...

Very interested in this, as I'm tired of constantly waiting for my stock SD4 bed to heat up. At the moment, I'm waiting for it to hit 105C...which takes a while, and is about the max I can get out of it.

Two spare a click, here is one of the most impressive things with the HB 8.8

The HB 8.8 is capable of heat-up times around 3 minutes to reach 100° C from room temperature. Please see the product images for temperature curve and thermal imaging data

I am anxious to toss this on an SD3 I got from another user. If someone has not beat me to it, I will have a walkthrough in due time, though it is fairly straighforward.

The 12V version uses 9.5A (115 watts), and we have not had any problems driving it with a RUMBA or RAMPS directly. The 24V uses 6A (144 watts), and we have not had any problems driving it directly either.

Does it need a relay or can you push that thru most typical boards such as printrboard and RAMPS?
