nice to hear the Geeetech parts fit but that also proves my point about how China steals its customers designs once they contract to do business with them also, as I have posted many times and have seen the practice for decades with other companies from the USA that ended up like Solidoodle soon after. China dont honor any form of copywrite laws.

The firmware is Marlin based so it's just a matter of whether or not it was enabled. If it's not showing up in RH and you have it set up in RH. Then the firmware is saying it's not there and you'll need to flash the board.
Could you verify what board you have, (a picture will work) and I'll help you through the process.
Don't be afraid of flashing firmware, your current version is seriously out of date.

Well that seems really dumb, given that the board has the plugs and everything. Of course, it also has a micro-SD slot that isn't enabled either.

They need to be enabled in the firmware which will require a flash which is a pain for this printer. The options might not even be supported in your version of firmware either since it was never an option.

I am looking for some assistance with the upgrade of my Solidoodle 2. I have the older version which lacked the bed heater and enclosure, and came with acrylic bed and the 65 Watt power supply brick. I upgraded the power supply to a modified 450W ATX unit, and that seems to have worked fine.
My second round of modifications has been the print bed. Luckily for me, the aluminum bed and PCB heater from one of the Geeetech models fits the funky three-point adjusters perfectly. I installed the bed components, and ran all six (power, ground, and thermistor) wires out to the controller. After removing the board, I installed connectors for the power and ground lines, then connected everything up. I powered up the printer, started Soliprint, and connected. All of the original functions seem to operate normally. The nozzle heated up, the motors all move, but the bed wouldn't heat or show up in the config. I figured there was something in the Slic3r settings, so I looked around and found the bed temperature default and changed it from 0C to 50C. I loaded a model, the config file, and told the printer to heat. Everything except the bed worked fine.
I am clearly missing something, but Solidoodle doesn't appear to have anticipated anyone bothering to upgrade. The board has the control transistor for the bed heater installed, just like the nozzle heater next to it. It does not appear to be a problem with poor connections.
