$400 for this Prusa variant. It comes assembled except you get to screw the tower and bed to each other (four screws) and plug the cables to the steppers. I had it out of the box and running in about 20 minutes. First, you level the bed. Nothing unusual, wing nuts (I replaced mine with knurled thumb nuts which are round and easier to tweak than wing nuts).

The bed and extruder were hot and ready to go in about three or four minutes. I loaded some ABS and fed it a print on the SD card. The first print impressed me as one of the best I've ever seen from an FFF printer. BTW, I use Simplify3D so that doesn't hurt.

The machine is very quiet, the steppers especially. The fan on the power supply is the noisiest part. You could have one on your desk and it would not interfere with phone calls or meetings.

Speed is good as well, comparable to or better than my SD3 on a good day. Print area is comparable to an SD3 too, 8"x8"x7". USB and SD, all steel construction, all metal hot end, i year warranty.

I got this to print carbon fiber and metallics, so I've already bought the Swiss hot end and hardened nozzle. I'll also add an enclosure although it doesn't seem to mind not having one. I'm sure when air conditioner season arrives it will need it since there's an outlet overhead (I built my house with the AC coming from above instead of out of the floor).

I'd say, based on what I've read and seen and the reviews others give it, you'd really want to consider this printer for an inexpensive yet surprisingly high quality adjunct to your stable.

More machine details here:

http://wanhaousa.com/products/duplicator-i3-steel-frame
