well, that's the thing... I can rule out slicer/software issues since the GCODE was generated months ago. They are files that I have printed dozen's of times.

I cleaned out the entire nozzle, but I guess I can try that again.

What I really wondering is if there is anything that could be going wrong mechanically that might cause this... I worry about my stepper motors failing with the inability to control the voltage going to them...

I get more x/y shifting than i used to, and I would imagine the extruder motor fails with time as well.

Like I said before, these are really crappy printers (mainly the hot end and drivers suck)

Tell your wife to let you open it so that you have your E3D dialed in by your birthday!
It is difficult to see with that pic. It could be due to the nozzle settings in your host software or it could be a partial clog...no telling by that pic alone

my E3D V6 is sitting in a box at home, wife won't let me open it until my birthday in another month!

At any rate, prints that just a month ago turned out fine on the stock head are how laced with holes in the top layer. If I increase the infill, I can avoid many of them.

But If I print GCODE that worked fine a month ago... swiss cheese!

I cleaned the entire print head about 2 weeks ago trying to see if that would improve the problem, and it was better for about a day, now back.

Could it be stepper motor on the extruder is going bad?

Crappy screenshot from my webcam attached.
